This was the best soul food I have ever had. Granted I haven’t had many, but this was delicious. The fish was good, the rice was OK, but I mean how much can you really do with white rice. The beans were the absolute best part of the meal I wanna say the greens are the best part however, to me at least they were just too salty. But take that with a grain of salt because I don’t usually eat salt. I know this picture looks so good that it looks like a stock photo but that’s really my plate

The jerk chicken egg was amazing. Tho large in size, I could have easily eaten 3-4. It was that good Jerk Honey Hennesey sauce is DA BOMB!! Owner/Chef Tamu created a sauce that you could put on anything to take it over the top. Mind you, the food was excellent without but with it....... Can't wait to come back to have it on the golden fried catfish

Stopped here to eat after playing disc golf at Dellwood and this place was amazing! I loved all the options they had on the menu. The catfish was awesome and the prices are good too. Totally happy we found this joint!

We found out about this place by a friend on Facebook and we had to come! We drove 30 minutes and worth every minute. We walked in and instantly you felt the family vibes. We were greeted instantly. The food came out fast and everything was 10/10. The portions were way more than expected for the price: everything was priced great. I am full and have leftovers. I will be returning and spreading the word! If you what some authentic soul food this is your place.

Me and my cousin fell into this restaurant as we were in the Joliet area and we needed to eat. Google can pull up some good finds. The pictures of the catfish drew us in. So glad we stopped in. Beautiful atmosphere, not a large spot but large enough. We immediately noticed the deck of cards on each table, and the stack of board games on the counter. Nice to get a game of spades or Uno in while you wait for your food. Now to the food, my cousin ordered her fish fried, I got the blackened fish. They didn't disappoint. Well seasoned, and the correct portion. I got the sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes. Had I known the blackened fish came with rice, I would have not gotten the potatoes. My cousin got greenbeans and mashed potatoes. Sent the greenbeans back and got cabbage, unfortunately they were cooked too soft, but that cabbage was nice. Everything well seasoned. I live in the city but would definitely stop back by the next time I'm in the Joliet area.

I had the Oxtail plate after a 14 hr drive from Denver. Stopped here before heading to my hotel nearby and was wonderful surprised by how warm and cheerful the staff are. The atmosphere was great and felt really relaxing. The food itself was beyond heavenly. On top, the portion is ridiculous to boot! Will def stop by everytime i am the Chicago area.

Really nice,small,black,family-oriented restaurant. I felt like I was at my auntie house waiting on my plate. even the bathroom felt like a family member‘s bathroom with the decor and having everything you need on hand in the restroom. The staff was really nice and helpful, even being honest when I asked about menu items. The owner was very involved from cooking the food and bringing the food out. She even made it a point to come out and make sure everything was OK for us. The food was so amazing. My fiancé and I got multiple items just so we can have a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I don’t regret it one bit. We were both pleased, full, and still had plenty to take home. Everything was hot and fresh, well worth a little wait we had. Most definitely will be back when in the Joliet area 10 out of 10.
